Ballet:

We follow the R.A.D. (Royal Academy of Dance) syllabus, which is internationally recognised as the best standard for ballet. All of the school's teachers are professionally qualified to teach R.A.D. ballet. We accept children from the age of 3, but the demand for places is often high as we limit class sizes to a maximum of 12 pupils for this age group. There is therefore a waiting list for some classes and we would urge you to consider putting your child on the waiting list as early as possible. Classes are currently available up to grade 5 and for adults we have both beginner and more advanced classes..

Tap:
The tap syllabus is provided by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (I.S.T.D), and classes are available for children from the age of 3 (some of these classes are scheduled after baby ballet for children who wish to do both) and we offer grades from Pre-Primary up to Intermediate. We also offer several adult tap classes at different levels including a Gold Medal class. All of our teachers are professionally qualified to teach I.S.T.D tap.

Modern:
Modern is a dance style for children which leads eventually to jazz. The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing syllabus has recently been updated and offers an exciting range of exercises and dance sequences. We offer modern from Primary for 5 year olds through to Intermediate. Children find that this is an energetic subject which though structured like a ballet class allows more freedom of expression. Many principles similar to ballet are taught, with an emphasis on encouraging a sense of rhythm and musicality. Most children find modern to be a fun class and it complements both ballet and tap in creating a fully rounded dancer.

Jazz:
Jazz classes are not syllabus based and are offered for three age groups. Junior Jazz for 8-12 year olds, Teen Jazz for 13-17 year olds and Adult Jazz. The Junior and Teen Jazz are based on modern but with an emphasis on fun rather than technique. They are particularly suitable for children who may not have danced before or who are not interested in taking exams. As well as warm-up, stretching and other exercises, we always work on a routine throughout the term, building it up week by week.
